JOB SUMMARY
The Adolescent Safeguarding Team delivers the statutory social work functions for children and young people identified as requiring an assessment or plan to reduce their risk of harm outside the home. This includes the range of social work from assessments and investigations to child in need, child protection or children in care plans, including court work when required.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:
- Experience of managing complex social work, making sure robust risk management takes place to manage assessed vulnerabilities and risk to protect adolescents and where appropriate members of the general public.
- Experience of undertaking effective assessment and care planning with child in need and child protection frameworks.
- Experience of tailoring support packages to the needs of young people and their families in line with the service’s practice framework to achieve best outcomes.
- An awareness of risk management and safeguarding in the context of social care including legislation, policy and procedures related to responsibilities
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:
- Qualified Social Worker and registered with SWE.
- Experience working in Safeguarding / Adolescent
- Drive to deliver Achieving for Children’s vision and mission to support children and young people to live safe, happy, healthy and successful lives.
- Personal determination, drive, energy and ambition to overcome obstacles, achieve challenging objectives, celebrate success and deliver excellent outcomes for children. Taking a strength based approach to managing situations
