The Role of Aftermarket Sales Engineer:
Are you a technical sales engineer or a customer support engineer who is looking for a change? We are seeking an individual who will help customers realise upgrades, and follow Solution-selling methodologies while working alongside marketing, engineering, and applications teams within the organisation to continually improve the customers’ experience and maintain the company’s reputation for excellence in service, spares, and support. 
 
Duties and Responsibilities for Technical Sales Engineer:
  • Meets monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets by proactively leveraging sales channels, and customer touchpoints to discover end-user needs and promote parts sales.
  • Working from the office you will be calling through an existing database of customers to upsell services and products including; Critical spare parts, Maintenance parts, Maintenance packages, Software Updates and Machine Upgrades etc.
  • Travel, to customers, with technicians, with sales on calls, and to trade shows as assigned to support and build relationships directly with the customer base (very occasional)
  • Proactively work to create tools that can easily identify: the type, use, and estimated life of tools and other components. 
  • Maximise customer solution opportunities by developing credibility and strong relationships with customers.  
  • Drives aftermarket revenues using all available resources, including partnering with marketing for product and service campaigns, applications for product-based trials, and with customers for testimonials. 
  • Actively cold call, warm call, and email customers directly to discover needs and promote Aftermarket offerings, travelling to customers when warranted to drive sales. 
  • Leverages the CRM, and existing customer interactions and takes opportunities to further uncover and develop leads for sales

Key Requirements for Technical Sales Engineer:
  • Technical knowledge of CNC routers, 3D printers, lasers, waterjets or similar industrial machinery
  • Previous experience of working in an sales or after sales support role
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages and CRM systems
  • Customer-facing experience is an asset. 
  • Experienced with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. 
  • Must be able to travel and stay away from home for training in 2-4 week periods.
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport.

Salary/ Package - Sales Engineer:
  • Salary: £35,000 up to £45,000 per year
  • 37.5 hour week Monday-Friday (1 hr lunch)
  • Company Laptop, phone and credit card
  • Death in service 
  • Commission up to 3%
  • 20 days + bank holidays
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • On-site parking
