AV Project Engineer Job Role

They are seeking a skilled AV Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in audiovisual systems, be detail-oriented, and possess strong problem-solving skills. The candidate will be responsible for planning, setting up, operating, and maintaining AV equipment for various events and installations, with a specific focus on commercial projects in the retail and leisure sectors.

AV Project Engineer Responsibilities

  • Oversee the installation and configuration of AV equipment, including projectors, screens, microphones, speakers, and video walls.
  • Lead and operate AV equipment during live events, ensuring high-quality audio and visual output.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimise downtime and maintain smooth project execution.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and team members to understand requirements and deliver an exceptional AV experience.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates on AV systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Document setups, configurations, and any technical issues encountered, ensuring all project details are accurately recorded.

AV Project Engineer Skills Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an AV Project Engineer working on commercial AV permanent installation projects across retail and leisure environments (not boardrooms and offices).
  • Strong knowledge of AV systems, including audio, video, and lighting equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications in AV technology.
  • Experience with advanced AV software and control systems.
  • Familiarity with networking and IT as it relates to AV systems.
