z/OS System Programmer
Initial 3-month contract role
Fully Remote
£500 - £550, Outside IR35
We are working with a Global Technology partner who are currently recruiting for a Mainframe System Programmer to join their team on an initial 3-month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Planning hardware and software system upgrades and changes in configuration.
- Automating operations.
- Capacity planning.
- Running installation jobs and scripts.
- Performing installation-specific customization tasks.
- Integration-testing the new products with existing applications and user procedures.
- System-wide performance tuning to meet required levels of service.
Requirements:
- Strong experience configuring and administering a wide range of systems such as z/OS, Db2 and MQ etc.
- Experience working independently with a broad technical remit.
- Experience working in a medium size environment.
