About the role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in challenging behaviours, you will play a crucial role in supporting students across Key Stage 1 and 2 who have a range of behavioural and emotional needs. Your focus will be to create a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel supported and understood, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and develop positive behaviours.

This is a rewarding and dynamic role where no two days will be the same. You will work closely with class teachers, the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and external professionals to deliver personalised interventions that meet the needs of each child. You’ll be a key figure in their day-to-day lives, offering guidance and structure while helping to improve their confidence, social skills, and academic outcomes.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with SEN, particularly in managing challenging behaviours.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies.
• A positive and proactive attitude.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviours.
• Assist with the implementation of individual behaviour plans and strategies.
• Support classroom teachers in managing behaviours during lessons.
• Work collaboratively with staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
• Help create a positive, inclusive atmosphere within the school.
