About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team in Wetherby. In this role, you will support learners with autism and other special educational needs throughout the school day, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with autism and other special educational needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to support student development.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behavior.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with or supporting students with additional learning needs.
  • Strong understanding of autism and other special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support are desirable.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
