Russell Taylor Group have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Supervisor/Manager to join a Global company who are working on a brand new 4-year project in the Portsmouth area.
Our client is looking for someone who has previous exposure to physical/mechanical testing and experience of supervising members of staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has the drive to get stuck into a brand-new project, and once this project is complete there will be an array of new opportunities in the business.

Responsibilities
• Manage and coordinate the day to day running of the laboratory within the testing business.
• Manage the business line to the business plan and financial budgets.
• Aim to achieve financial targets in respect of sales and profits.
• Ensure Health and Safety, Quality, Technical and Commercial standards are maintained in accordance to ISO 17025 and UKAS standards.
• Ensure that invoicing, cash flow and debts are maintained at acceptable level.
• Support and train members of the team.
• Ensure that test rates and production are always kept to a high standard.

The Person
• Previous experience working within the Concrete, Soils and Aggregates industry is a must for this role.
• Previous experience of physical/mechanical testing.
• Experience with working with financials (P&L etc) and strategic business insight.
• Exposure to understanding H&S
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Team player
• Strong leader and ability to influence.
• Happy to travel where the work is required and work overtime.
