Job Description

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced 360 Plant Operative to join our team at a leading recycling company located on the ports. As a 360 Plant Operative, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of plant machinery, ensuring the smooth running of recycling processes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong work ethic and experience in a heavy industrial or port-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate 360-degree excavators and other plant machinery to load and unload materials, including recyclables and waste.

- Sort and handle a variety of recyclable materials, such as metal, plastics, and construction waste.

- Maintain machinery by performing daily checks, ensuring any issues are reported promptly for repair.

- Collaborate with site staff to ensure efficient operation and flow of materials throughout the facility.

- Adhere to all company health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment.

- Assist with general yard duties as required, including cleaning and maintenance of the recycling site.

- Work in conjunction with the logistics team to ensure timely loading and offloading of materials.

- Monitor quality of materials to ensure compliance with recycling standards and regulations.

Requirements

- Valid CPCS or NPORS certification for 360 excavator operations.

- Proven experience working as a 360 Plant Operative, ideally in a recycling or waste management environment.

- Good understanding of health and safety practices, particularly in an industrial or port environment.

- Ability to work well under pressure and meet operational deadlines.

- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

- Flexibility to work shifts, including potential weekend work depending on port operations.

- A reliable, punctual, and proactive approach to work.

Desirable

- Experience working within a port-based environment is advantageous.

- Knowledge of recycling processes and materials handling.

- Additional plant/machinery operating certifications (e.g., telehandler, loading shovel).
