Our client is a component supplier to the energy transition market and are aiding the evolution of key clients into the renewables space. The organisation in question has a long-standing history in the region. They have low attrition rates and the majority of those who work for the organisation have long service awards. This is a high-tech facility with the business employing around 200 staff.

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Welding Engineer to work day shift on a permanent contract based in the Teesside area.
  
The successful applicant will be joining a company that has a world class manufacturing capability, and a skilled workforce with a long history and global recognition
  
THE ROLE
This is a hands on role and the individual should have the ability to weld, support and coach welders on the shopfloor. The organisation in question utilises automated processes and we are seeking a Welding Engineer who has experience of mechanisation/automation
  
  • Prepare, design and control all Welding procedures as required by client’s specifications
  • Liaise with the Technical Department to determine the selection of welding consumables
  • Authorise the purchase of welding consumables
  • Prepare and develop welding trials to improve the pipe mill quality targets
  • Maintenance of weld operator qualifications in accordance with the appropriate welding codes
  
  
THE PERSON
  
  • The jobholder should possess, the internationally recognised European/International Welding Engineering Diploma qualification
  • If however the job holder has less than this required qualification, but has the capability/inclination to achieve the standard, then the organisation will fund the necessary training and associated costs via its further education processes.
  • A high standard of technical and analytical skills are also essential for this position.
  • Must have practiceal welding experience
  • Must understand automated/mechanised welding processes
  • Management skills to help support, coach and develop individuals
  • Keen eye for quality and detail
