  • Battery System Design: Dynamically size the battery system, which plays a crucial role in ensuring grid stability and security.
  • Infrastructure Design: Supervise the design of power cables, MV and HV substations, and the transmission/distribution system. Work on the design of HVDC converters and offshore DC cables simultaneously.
  • Cost-Benefit and Risk Analysis: Lead cost-benefit analyses, design reviews, RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) studies, and safety protocols. Participate in power system simulations to ensure a robust design.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Oversee the entire lifecycle of the project, from design to commissioning, ensuring testing and installation processes are adhered to.
  • Control Systems Oversight: Implement and monitor control systems to guarantee secure and reliable system operation.
  • Power System Studies: Conduct and interpret power system studies to ensure that the designed system meets all technical and regulatory requirements.
  • Cybersecurity Integration: Ensure that the EMS/SCADA system is integrated with a robust cybersecurity framework.

Required Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: BSc/BEng in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related discipline. Chartered Engineer status and membership in a relevant professional institution are essential.
  • Experience:
    • Extensive postgraduate experience in the power industry, with a focus on HVDC projects.
