Business Development Manager (On-Trade)

Field Based – North West

Up to £50,000 plus travel allowance and generous bonus

Are you a commercial and customer-focused On-Trade expert with experience securing new business for premium brands across multiple operators and national accounts?

The Advocate Group are partnering with a well respected Scottish independent family firm in the spirits industry whose products are well recognised and enjoyed by many. They are looking for a Business Development Manager to work on their premium portfolio and drive engagement in the on-trade and cultivate new business

Responsibilities will include:

New Business Development:

  • Focus on acquiring large premium groups and national accounts.
  • Targeted approach to securing business within premium pubs, bars, restaurants, and hotels.
  • Leverage a prospecting database while continuously generating new leads and contacts.
  • Implement a proactive engagement strategy that extends beyond tender periods.
  • Take a consultative approach to understand customer needs and align with how the company's brands can drive consumer engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure database alignment and maximize opportunity.
  • Develop compelling marketing and commercial tenders in partnership with relevant departments.
  • Maintain regular communication with regional teams, building relationships across various areas and roles.
  • Create and execute a territory plan, capitalizing on market opportunities.
  • Onboard and support new accounts.

RTM Collaboration (10%)

  • Network with sales teams to increase awareness of the brand portfolio and uncover new opportunities.
  • Work cross-functionally with colleagues to enhance impact, identify opportunities, and collaborate effectively across the sector.
  • Coordinate with distribution and sales teams to ensure product availability and secure new product listings.
  • Utilize wholesale data to strengthen and expand brand presence.
  • Monitor and respond to changes in wholesale order performance.

Account Management (20%)

  • Manage full account responsibility with guidance from leadership, including budget and discretionary investments.
  • Ensure effective account management by addressing gaps, driving margin growth, and implementing marketing activations.
  • Leverage sponsorship events and local partnerships to boost brand visibility and engagement.
