What you'll be doing;
- Compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures, regulations, legislation and guidance
- Ensure compliance against Site's Environmental Permit
- Organise the day to day running of the transfer station and supervision of the transfer team, including all relevant training
- Technically assess waste before uploading lists into Salesforce
- Quoting and pricing of incoming wastes
- Liaise with Customer services regularly regarding incoming wastes
- Checking and generating paperwork and labels
- Supervision and involvement in segregation, packing, listing and labelling of wastes whilst maximising profit by consolidation/repacking when appropriate
- Managing inputs and maintaining stock levels of waste and packaging
- Ensure that all loads are disposed of in accordance with all relevant legislation and guidance
- Responsible for arranging and booking outgoing loads including organising disposal quotes and transport
- Ensure all waste received is compliant and caveats adhered to/inserted
- Informing customers of NCRs and relevant surcharges
- Develop new and existing customer relationships with disposal outlets
- Ability to cover for Operations Manager and Chemists as and when required
- Perform other reasonable duties as required by the Operations Manager
What we're looking for;
- Bachelor's degree or HND/HNC in Chemistry
- IT literate
- IOSH passport or managing safely
- 2 years experience in a transfer station environment or dealing with hazardous chemicals/waste
- Supervisory experience
- Commercial awareness
