Field Service Engineer (Mechanical or Electrical)

Location: Nationwide (Travel Required)
Salary: £44,000 per annum + Overtime Opportunities

Key Responsibilities of the Field Service Engineer:

  • Installations & Maintenance: Work on the installation and maintenance of machine tools, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • PLC Work (if electrical): Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems.
  • CNC Wheel Lathes: Experience with CNC wheel lathes would be extremely advantageous.
  • Travel: Be prepared to work away from home up to 4 nights a week, with all travel arrangements and expenses covered.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly diagnose and resolve electrical issues on-site, minimising downtime for clients.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the wider engineering team to deliver high-quality service and support.

The Ideal Field Service Engineer:

  • Experience: Strong background in electrical engineering, with hands-on experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting. Experience with machine tools is essential, and experience with CNC wheel lathes would be a significant advantage.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel and stay away from home for up to 4 nights a week.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of PLC systems and the ability to read and work from electrical schematics.
  • Qualifications: Relevant electrical engineering qualifications (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent) are essential. Additional experience in machine tool maintenance would be an advantage.

Package Offered to the Field Service Engineer:

  • Salary: £44,000 per annum.
  • Overtime Pay: Additional earnings available for weekend work.
  • Travel Perks: Company van, fuel card, and credit card for expenses.
  • Accommodation & Allowances:
    • Digs and travel expenses fully covered.
    • £30 per evening allowance for working away.
    • £7 per day for working away.
