Role: Structural Design Engineer
Location: Longford, Ireland
Salary: DOE

Our client are one of Irelands largest Structural Steelwork Fabricators, trading for over 30 years with some of the industries top talent, and are now seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join their team in Longford, Ireland.

The role:

• Review and assess design information including drawings and specification from Design Teams.
• Develop design ideas and structural design calculations
• Communicate with engineers/architects when preparing drawings/designs
• Draft marked-up drawings to illustrate your designs to our team of detailers
• Willingness and responsive to the demands and coordination of other design team professionals, clients and contractors
• Liaise with external consultants, design teams and clients
• Undertake site inspections, site meetings and online meetings on a regular basis
• Perform other job-related duties as required

Qualifications/Experience:

• Level 8 Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 0 - 3 years' experience. Experience preferred to be in an Engineering Design Office, but site work is also deemed to be valuable.
• Ideally you will have gained experience working on steel frame projects
• Full working knowledge of Eurocode Design Standards for Steel and a good working knowledge of the Concrete Eurocode Design Standards
• A good knowledge of structural engineering design software including Master series, Tekla Structural Designer, Idea Statica or similar Be able to work in a team environment and take direction from Project Lead Engineers to prioritise deliverables, work to tight deadlines and deliver projects on time
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Self-motivated with great attention to detail and ability to research a subject
