We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join our school in Cambridge. As a General Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting both teachers and students in the classroom, ensuring that every child receives the best possible education and support. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is looking for a rewarding and flexible role.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and supporting students with their learning.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, adapting to their individual learning needs.
  • Help with classroom organisation, preparing resources, and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN) or other additional needs as required.
  • Encourage students to participate in class activities and develop their independence.
  • Monitor students' progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Assist with any general classroom duties, including managing behavior, setting up activities, and supporting students' social and emotional development.


About You:

We are looking for a motivated, flexible individual who enjoys working in an educational environment and has a strong desire to support the academic and personal growth of students. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a teaching assistant or childcare role, although this is not essential. We welcome applicants who are eager to learn and grow within the role.



Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude with a strong commitment to supporting children's learning.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and flexibility in adapting to different student needs.
  • Previous experience working in a school or childcare setting is desirable but not required.
  • A willingness to undertake relevant training and development opportunities.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
