Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our Barnstaple team on a full-time day shift. Offering a competitive salary of up to £45,000, this role is ideal for a skilled technician who is passionate about ensuring high standards of maintenance and repair for heavy goods vehicles. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance, helping to keep our fleet in excellent working condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostics and Repair:
Perform accurate diagnostics and repairs on a variety of HGVs, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. - Preventative Maintenance:
Carry out regular inspections and preventative maintenance to enhance vehicle reliability and minimize breakdowns. - Safety and Compliance:
Conduct safety checks and inspections to ensure all vehicles meet regulatory standards and maintain compliance with DVSA requirements. - Documentation and Reporting:
Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repairs performed, following company policies and maintaining accurate service documentation. - Parts Replacement and Inventory Support:
Identify and replace faulty parts, coordinating with the parts department to ensure timely availability of necessary components.
- Experience:
Previous experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role, with hands-on expertise in diagnosing and repairing HGV systems. - Certification:
NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent qualification preferred. - Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems. - Health & Safety Knowledge:
Commitment to maintaining safety standards and a safe work environment. - Team Player:
Ability to collaborate effectively with other team members during the day shift.
