About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Commercial Manager to join our construction team in Frankfurt. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial and commercial aspects of major construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with contractual obligations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in the construction industry, with extensive knowledge of financial management, contract negotiation, and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Management: Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows to ensure accurate cost control and financial planning. Oversee invoicing, payments, and financial reporting.

• Contract Negotiation & Administration: Lead negotiations and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients. Ensure compliance with contractual agreements, and handle claims or disputes as they arise.

• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential risks related to project costs, contracts, and schedules. Develop and implement strategies to minimize exposure to financial risks.

• Project Reporting & Analysis: Prepare and present financial and commercial reports, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement. Provide insights to guide decision-making at all project stages.

• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and budgets. Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding commercial matters.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years in a commercial management role within the construction industry, ideally on large-scale projects.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, construction management, or a related field. Advanced qualifications (e.g., MBA, RICS certification) are a plus.

• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and contract management tools. Excellent knowledge of German construction law, FIDIC contracts, and procurement standards.

• Languages: Fluency in German and English is essential.

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
