Job Summary:

A Housing Support Worker plays a crucial role in helping individuals or families secure and maintain safe and stable housing. They work with clients who are homeless, facing housing instability, or other housing-related challenges. The primary goal is to offer support to help clients find appropriate housing and work towards gaining independent living skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of clients to determine their housing needs, barriers, and eligibility for support programs.

-Assist clients in finding suitable permanent housing options.

- Develop and implement individualized support plans to address the client's needs, which may include mental health, Physical health, drug/alcohol misuse or employment assistance.

- Assist clients in navigating financial assistance programs and provide budgeting support to ensure housing stability.

- Advocate on behalf of clients to access community resources, social services, and housing programs.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and progress notes.

- Collaborate with other agencies, social workers, and housing providers to ensure a coordinated approach to clients' needs.

- Empower clients by teaching life skills and self-advocacy, enabling them to maintain long-term housing stability.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- A relevant qualification in the Health and social care sector

- Strong leadership and organizational skills.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
