Internal Auditor (Interim)

£450 per day (umbrella)

A North London Local Authority is seeking an exceptional Internal Auditor to join their small, dedicated Internal Audit team. This interim role supports the delivery of the authority's annual audit plan, providing a great opportunity to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting risk-based internal audit engagements from planning through to delivery
• Producing clear, high-quality audit reports with actionable insights
• Providing assurance on the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Holds a professional qualification (CCAB, CMIIA, or AAT) or has a proven track record of relevant experience in a similar role, ideally with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
• Brings prior experience in local government or the wider public sector
• Has an analytical and detail-oriented approach to work, with an excellent understanding of risk-based auditing
• Possesses outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrates the ability to independently plan and manage audit engagements, producing high-quality deliverables
