Client Details

A great opportunity for a Buyer - Product Development to join a successful business in Skelmersdale area. They import from the Far East and Europe where they have a showroom as well as in the UK head office. They are a Sedex Member and FSX certified. The business supply a number of retailers in the UK and Europe , everyday and seasonal products.

Description

  • Review and analyse current range.
  • Research trends and develop new products.
  • Create a range plan.
  • Work with our in-house Design team to develop and create commercial designs.
  • Ensure enquiry sheets are completed accurately with product specifications.
  • Send enquiry sheets onto factories and ensure we receive correct and best prices.
  • Understand factory base - who can produce what, capabilities, limits, possibilities and source new far east factories where needed.
  • Use SAP to set item codes up and raise PO's to factories for new products and rebuys.
  • Send product artwork, packaging artwork, colour proofs and any necessary swatches/samples to factories.
  • Create a critical path and clear detailed order overviews for factories & the China team to follow. Ensure this is kept up to date at all times.
  • Check pre-production samples and ensure prompt approval is sent to factory so mass production can begin.
  • Communicate regularly with factory to monitor production status, answer any queries they may have and resolve any issues.

Profile

  • Experience in far east sourcing and buying is essential
  • Level of business and commercial awareness.
  • Able to prioritise own workload effectively.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Team working and relationship building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • A good level of IT skills - excel proficient.
  • Experience of SAP preferred.
