About the Hermitage Clinic

The Hermitage Clinic is a 112 bed private hospital in Lucan, West Dublin. Our specialised medical teams provide medical, surgical and advanced radiotherapy care to patients and are supported by the very latest medical technology. The Hermitage Clinic is committed to providing excellence in patient care using state-of-the-art facilities. The Operations Department is a multi-disciplinary team providing a comprehensive estate and facilities management service to ensure that the land and property assets fully support the clinical activities of the campus. The department is also responsible for advising and contributing to the Hermitage Clinic Campus Estate Strategy, a core component of the Hermitage Clinic's future growth and business plans.


About the Role

The purpose of this position is to play a key role in planning and implementing, capital and revenue projects on behalf of the Operations Department to support the core businesses of the Hermitage Clinic and other relevant corporate activities. The Project Manager will be responsible and accountable for managing projects in a manner that demonstrably meets the Hermitage Clinic objectives form, value for money, efficiency and effectiveness, maximising efficiency, cost effectiveness, and developing the provision of service excellence to both internal and external clients.  

 

Key Objectives

  • Actively supporting the Head of Operations in preplanning and implementing capital and revenue projects.
  • Managing projects from inception to completion including the preparation of feasibility studies and specifications. Preparation of project execution plans.
  • Manage projects in accordance with the standard forms of contracts and other codes of best practice.
  • Commission and manage external resources when required in accordance with statutory regulations, procedures and processes with responsibility for time, cost and quality management.
  • Procure capital and revenue projects in accordance with BHHC regulations, procedures and processes with emphasis on value for money.
  • Provide management, financial and progress reports at regular intervals to Head of Dept and senior management.
  • Provide senior management with advice on value for money.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of estate policies and procedures and master planning.
  • Actively promote team building with other colleagues so as to meet the requirements of operational improvement.
  • Conduct risk assessment(s) when necessary.
  • Deputising for the Head of Dept during periods of absence and on other occasions as may be required from time to time.
  • Performing such other duties as may be required from time to time.


Requirements:

  • Chartered professional qualification in an estates related discipline with five years relevant experience. Alternatively a qualification to level 4 NQF or level 1 FHEQ or equivalent with substantial experience and references will be taken into consideration. Ideally the post holder will possess a formal project management qualification.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and problem solving skills.
  • Self motivated, able to work without supervision, using own initiative to complete tasks.
  • Well developed knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety, Building Regulations, Planning Law and other regulations.
  • IT literate, especially familiarity with computer based information management systems and their use in facilities.
  • High level of commercial awareness
