The role? 

An exciting new opportunity has arisen in our centralised equipment group for an Import/Export Coordinator. This role will report directly to the Equipment Mobilisation/Demobilisation Manager, in Aberdeen on a Full Time permanent basis. You will be responsible for organising the import, export or domestic movement of cargo, by any mode of transport, or by a combination of modes. Other main duties will include:

  • Compiling shipping documentation for international movements of equipment & materials.
  • Ensure Customs clearance is managed in a prompt and efficient manner and imports / exports are completed with minimum delay.
  • Tracking shipments from collection through to successful delivery.
  • Examining and verifying that outgoing shipments meet specifications and adhere to environmental systems and management procedures.
  • Co-ordinating delivery progress and schedule.
  • Regular liaison with internal customers, stakeholders, logistics companies freight forwarders and other service providers as required.
  • Responding to any queries about shipments to stakeholders.
  • Updating system(s) with shipping and tracking information.
  • Filing / organising shipping documentation to enable easy reference and audit. (MSS)
  • Co-ordinating with internal customers & shipping teams on delivery progress and schedule.

You are? 

To be successful in this role you will have knowledge of UK import & export procedures including but not limited to CPC codes, returning goods relief and inward processing relief. You will have an understanding of Intercoms 2020, and a solid understanding of temporary and permanent import regimes overseas and the implications of these. You will also have knowledge of various methods of transport (air/sea/road) as well as a working knowledge of sea freight options such as flat racks, CSC plating etc. An understanding of Dangerous Goods legislation is also essential (ADR/IMDG/IATA).
