Our hugely successful client is looking for an Accountant / Client Manager to join their team, based in London Colney, Hertfordshire.

This super firm offers full accounting, taxation and payroll solutions to a wide range of clients, priding themselves on providing a professional, efficient and friendly service, tailored to their clients’ individual needs.

About the role

As a senior accountant/client manager you will have your own client base, and will work on building relationships with your clients, supporting and understanding their specific needs to help them get the most out of their business.

Other areas of work will include overseeing the bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts, statutory accounts, corporation tax returns and personal tax returns for your clients (amongst other tasks as required) with a combination of performing the work yourself and reviewing the work done by others.

You will also use your expertise to help, support and train other members of the team.

Essential experience and qualities:

  • At least 3 years practice experience
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with clients
  • Ability to manage your own workload and prioritise work to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Strong use of Excel and Word
  • Competent use of Xero, Quickbooks and Sage
  • ACA or ACCA part or fully qualified
  • 5 4-9 grade GCSEs (or equivalent) including mathematics
  • 3 A-C grade A-levels (or equivalent)

Ideally but not essential :

  • Experience of both personal and corporate tax and accounting
  • Ability to advise clients on different business structures and the relative benefits
  • Experience reviewing others work
  • Experience assisting with the training and development of other team members
  • Experience of Tax Calc and Smart Vault

Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm with 1 hour for lunch, with a maximum of 2 days hybrid working from home.  Monday’s are always office days.

The practice is closed between Xmas Eve and New Year which are additional days given as annual holiday allowance.
