Contract Type: Temporary. Full-time and part-time are available.
Job Description
Smile Education are currently looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant on behalf of one of our wonderful partner SEN schools. The school you will be joining is based in Tamworth and is part of the Endeavour Multi Academy Trust.
The school is a specialist provision, catering for children with a wide range of needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH needs, physical disabilities, and sensory needs. The school works hard to enable the students to lead as fulfilling and independent lives as possible by developing their strengths and a ‘can do’ attitude. This role is based in their primary site, supporting students in KS1 and KS2.
Responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring their individual needs are met.
- Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons that cater to the diverse needs of SEN students.
- Support students in developing their social skills, self-esteem, and independence.
- Help prepare learning materials and resources for SEN students.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN coordinators.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and needs.
- Previous experience working with children, especially those with Autism.
- Level 2/3 TA qualification (or other relevant qualification, e.g. childcare).
- Knowledge of special education practices and techniques.
- Patience, empathy, and an understanding towards children with special educational needs.
- Flexible work to fit around your other commitments.
