Vetro Education is seeking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to work in a Primary school based in Caerau, Cardiff.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality nursery education. They must contribute to the school's nurturing, community-focused ethos. Additionally, they must demonstrate exceptional communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. The role requires showing initiative, adaptability, and the ability to meet the diverse needs of all learners, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and More Able and Talented (MAT) students. An excellent understanding of early childhood development is essential.

The school are looking for a Successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start in the new academic year September 2024.

Overview:

  • Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant
  • Pay: £100 per day minimum
  • Location: Pencaeurau, Cardiff
  • Hours: Full time/Part time, Long Term - Monday to Friday 8:30 am - 3:10 pm

The role: What you'll be doing as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant

  • Work in partnership with other members of staff to support the learners in their care
  • Supporting the class Teacher with the planning for the lesson
  • Support learners individually, in small groups and on a full-class basis
  • Engage learners with both classroom and outside-classroom activities
  • Work in accordance to the school's behaviour management policies


The candidate: What you'll need to be successful as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant

  • At least 1 years experience supporting/working with children
  • At least a level 3 Teaching assistant qualification
  • Registration as a School Learning Support Worker with the EWC (the Education Workforce Council) - we can help you with this
  • References covering the last two years (no gaps)
  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
