Job Title: Quantity Surveyor / Estimator
Company Overview: Bedford based Construction company specialising in structural timber installation, offering services such as Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) structures, timber framing, Glulam beams and Structural Insulated Panels (SIPS). They handle new builds, extensions, and refurbishments for both public and private sector clients, operating mainly within a 70-mile radius of Bedford but also nationwide. The company emphasises high-quality training and safety for its staff, ensuring smooth project execution and minimal accidents.
Office Location: Bedford, UK
Salary Range (depending on experience): £35,000 - £55,000 basic + benefits
Responsibilities:
- Preparing cost estimates and budgets for timber construction projects
- Managing project costs and ensuring financial efficiency
- Conducting risk assessments and contract negotiations
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Monitoring project progress and financial status
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying / estimating
- Strong knowledge of structural timber installation
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Proficiency in relevant software
