Engineering Manager

Toro Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Engineering Manager to oversee the engineering functions across four quarry sites and three workshops.

As the Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the Engineering function across four quarry sites and three engineering workshops. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations, supervising all engineering activities, and maintaining accurate records of employee timesheets. You’ll collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and Health and Safety Representative to promote environmentally considerate work practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Engineering Department with a strong emphasis on Health and Safety compliance
• Oversee and supervise all engineering activities ensuring proper management control
• Ensure completion of inspections and prompt reporting of any defects
• Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and Health and Safety Representative
• Adhere to Environmental Management System guidelines and promote environmentally responsible practices
• Foster effective communication and build professional relationships within the team
• Accurately record employee timesheets

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of various quarrying equipment
• Previous management experience in a quarry or similar industrial environment
• At least a QCF 6/NVQ4 in Extractives Management, or a willingness to pursue this qualification

Key information:

Hours: Average of 47.75 hours per week, including one Saturday morning (6 hours) per month. Work hours will be scheduled between 6:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
