Role: FPGA Design Engineer

Location: Leicester

Salary: £ competitive

Work from home: Primarily office based to enable learning and engagement with the engineering team, plus have access to equipment here. Our engineers sometimes WFH by agreement when a task or circumstances benefit from this.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the role requires an eager and enthusiastic individual who can be trained in the processes outlined below.

The work will require electronics hardware design in both digital and analogue domains.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

. Working in a small team

. New Product design and development

. Maintain existing product within the product group

. Create and maintain clear and concise documentation

. Work effectively with other engineers to ensure the design meet the requirements

. Ability to work to ISO9001:2015

Required Skills and competencies:

. FPGA design, synthesis, implementation, and simulation verification, including achieving timing closure

. Proficient in RTL design and coding experience with VHDL (or Verilog)

. High-speed digital design experience

. Experience of developing on large FPGA's (Altera and Xilinx) using VHDL (or Verilog/System Verilog)

Desired Skills and competencies:

. Knowledge of CPU or DSP architectures (preferably z80, ARM, PIC)

. Experience in analogue and digital design at system, product, and circuit level

. Schematic entry and PCB knowledge

. Experience programming in assembly language or high level language (C/C++, Python etc)

. High-speed digital design experience

. Product design and test experience (e.g., EMC Compliance, UKAS calibration)

Salary banding

Dependant on experience.
