As a Staff Nurse in the Pre-Operative Assessment unit, your duties will include:
- Assessing patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
- Undertaking electronic pre-operative assessments.
- Identifying and escalating patients of concern to senior nursing staff.
- Conducting full patient health assessments and triaging pre-operative requirements.
- Assisting in the delivery of care to meet individual health and well-being needs.
- Providing and receiving complex, sensitive, or contentious information.
- Developing your own knowledge and skills as well as those of others.
- Promoting best practices in health, safety, and security.
- Assisting in maintaining and developing services.

- Desirable skills in phlebotomy, venepuncture, and ECG (or willingness to be trained).
- Outstanding communication skills.
- A surgical background is desirable but not essential.
- Willingness to undertake a Pre-Operative Assessment Association course within 12 months of employment.
