Teacher of Social Science (Sociology) - South Birmingham

Start date – September 2024

Full Time position Monday - Friday 

Pay rates vary between £130 to £220 per day depending on experience

Required to start ready for the new academic year in September 2024, we have a mainstream secondary school based in South Birmingham, who are looking for a Teacher of Social Science (Sociology) to join them and their welcoming team of staff and students. The school prides themselves on their high expectations of conduct and lead by example at all times.

The full-time role starts September 2024 and the school is looking to book the right candidate immediately to get the role finalised and support arranged prior to 22nd July. The successful candidate would be working across KS5 (year 12 & 13) teaching Sociology. Your role is to follow and implement the relevant schemes of learning whilst working closely with the Head of Faculty. 

The Senior Leadership Team and the Head of Department will offer excellent support and will provide an encouraging and supportive environment.

Applicants need to have the following:

• QTS is preferred however not essential if you have experience teaching sociology for more than 6 months.
• Experience teaching Sociology to Year 12 and Year 13
• Excellent classroom management
• A real desire to make a positive difference to the pupils that you work with

All our supply staff are paid on a PAYE basis, so you can rest assured that you’re paying the right level of Tax and National Insurance. Your will need to provide x2 references and obtain a full enhanced DBS check to be put forward for this role.
