Verus Recruitment is pleased to represent one of the UK's leading independent aerospace and industrial forgers. Operating from a state-of-the-art facility in Sheffield, they produce high-integrity forged components in nickel alloy, titanium, stainless steel, and carbon alloys for a variety of sectors, including aerospace, nuclear, power generation, marine, and oil and gas.

They are looking for a talented process engineer to Join the team with the potential for this role to develop into a Forge or Heat Treatment Manager.  

About the role:

As my clients Process Engineer, you will collaborate with production, quality, environmental, and health and safety systems in the open die forgings units. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Monitoring daily activities in production units, ensuring compliance with route card instructions and customer requirements.
  • Liaising with customers on the forge shop floor to ensure their expectations are met.
  • Recording and monitoring aerospace/nuclear forging production, specifically metal soak times and temperatures.
  • Conducting daily production checks of forging furnaces and overseeing the furnace survey schedule.
  • Coordinating with the Instruments department on any furnace-related issues.
About you:
  • You will have a material science/Material engineering degree or similar
  • Be a Strong team player with a solid understanding of metallurgy and material processing.
  • Be proactive and practical approach with excellent communication skills.
  • Have experience in mechanical testing and adherence to national, international, and customer specifications.
  • Willingness and capability to train into a forge/heat treatment management role.
What would make you stand out? (Desirable)
  • Training on FLT and OH Crane is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience working in Forging.
