Senior Plant Supervisor (Biogas)

  • Location: Northampton
  • Start: July/August 2024
  • Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 GROSS PA (Shift rate equivalent to the offered salary)
  • It is a 4 on 4 off shift pattern alternating between days and nights.

Senior Plant Supervisor (Gas)
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Plant Supervisor (Gas) to join the team! The successful candidate will have significant experience in plant operations and demonstrate capabilities to lead and coach.

Required Skills:

  • Plant Operator experience on a BioGas upgrading and liquefaction or similar Fuels/oil & gas, chemical or bulk liquid storage industry.
  • Experience working with liquids and gases on a lower tier COMAH rated site with demonstrated increased responsibility and leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and requirements of the industry and will continually put this understanding into practice.


Main Duties
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the anaerobic digestion plant, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Monitor and manage the intake, processing, and output of organic waste materials.
  • Ensure all equipment is maintained and operated according to manufacturer guidelines and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and perform routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Lead the shift operations to optimise the unit operations within the facility.
  • Ensure production and inventory meets the demands of the supply chain.
  • Manage the safety of personnel and contractors on the site.
  • Analyse performance and contribute to the continuous improvement of the plant.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting
  • Liaise with engineers to troubleshoot mal performance.
  • Assist management in the raising and review of non-conformances.
  • Work with the Quality Manager to ensure product specifications are consistently met
  • Approve procedures and risk assessments for routine and reactive maintenance.
  • As a Senior Plant Supervisor (Gas) your duties will also include induction/supervision of contractors, issuing safety work permits and site wide housekeeping.
