Product Development Engineer Permanent Full-Time

Salary - Circa £38,000 DOE
Location - Hybrid, Towcester or Kings Lynn

We're working with a company that has over half a century in the design and engineering of industrial packaging solutions from equipment, bespoke machinery to consumables. They operate across the UK, Europe but also the rest of the world.

They are now looking to expand their design team with an additional Design Engineer, who will be responsible for developing engineering drawings or product designs for customer led new product development projects, as well as value engineering the existing product portfolio.

Responsibilities, but are not limited to

• Ensure new projects are thoroughly understood at the design brief stage and that customer' success criteria and requirements are clear and that all designs meet customer expectations
• Review materials and manufacturing processes as well as supplier capability to ensure products are developed in a lean and cost-effective way
• Complete drawing packs including the full BOMs
• Professional completion and collation of documents to ensure compliance and product readiness for customers
• UK and foreign travel as part of design development to be expected
• Expanding and developing a leading range of innovate solutions

Experiences required

• Competent in using SolidWorks for 3D modelling
• Experience in Sheet Metal & Fabrication design is essential
• Background in working in a Manufacturing or Fabrication environment
• Create detailed technical drawings for manufacture (DFMA)
• Educated within Engineering or similar qualification would be an advantage
• Working knowledge of New Product Introduction (NPI) processes is advantageous
• UK driving license required
