Having recently expanded upon services within Birmingham they are currently looking for Support Workers to help contribute to the high-quality service they provide to those in need. Could that be you?

Vacancy Brief:

  • Our client is seeking a Housing Support Worker, supporting rough sleepers' on a Temp to Perm basis.
  • This vacancy is full time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Working Pattern: Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with flexibility to work an occasional late shift.
  • This vacancy is based in Birmingham.
  • Excellent pay rate: candidate’s will be paid £11.50 PAYE Or £14.66 per hour Umbrella.
  • Candidate must have experience of homelessness prevention of young people in independent living.
  • The role is subject to an enhanced DBS covering Child and Adult workforce.
  • Full UK Driver’s License and access to a vehicle is essential.

The Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In this job role, you will be required to work as part of the under 25’s rough sleepers’ team to have a positive impact on rough sleeping numbers and in particular those whom are care experienced.
  • You will work closely with Personal Advisors and where the young person has lost contact attempt to re-engage them with the responsible Local Authority.
  • Part of your job role will be to support young people to remain in their home or secure alternative suitable accommodation to prevent rough sleeping.
  • You will work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies in order to ensure needs are met.
  • An important aspect of your role will be to cultivate positive social circles and be better equipped to maintain their accommodation and independence and avoid returning to the street.
  • Furthermore, you will be required to support young people in their recovery to find employment, undertake training and develop budgeting skills.
