Membership Coordinator

Hours: Part time 24 hours per week (flexible)
Location: Working remotely (ideally based in South East England) with very occasional travel within the UK
Salary: £18,750 pro-rated (£31,250 full time equivalent)
The role
The Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) are looking for an enthusiastic Membership Coordinator to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the growth of SOLLA within the later life financial advice market. We are looking for someone who can play a key part in helping drive the growth of our membership.
The role has four key areas:
Prospective members
- Follow up membership enquiries and respond by email and telephone
- Speak with prospects that engage with the Society and share the benefits of joining the Society
- Build on SOLLA’s existing processes to help us improve how we attract and engage prospective new members
Networks
- Develop relationships within an established network of contacts, firms, and other partners
- Deliver presentations to these firms, online or face to face, with SOLLA’S appropriate supporting slides and materials
New members
- Be the contact for all new members, including delivering one-to-one induction calls
- Proactively engage with new members, building relationships and sharing guidance to those members working towards their accreditation
- Input into improving the accreditation journey for new members and reviewing key touch points to encourage membership engagement
Retention
- Supporting existing membership due to take their five-year reaccreditation by encouraging them to book for their assessment
- Input ideas for improving membership engagement to help encourage retention
Required skills and experience
- Excellent communicator with outstanding verbal and written skills
- Excellent IT skills, proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Zoom
- Experience of using CRM systems/databases
- Experience of using LinkedIn to connect with potential members
- A background in marketing, communications, sales or business development would be beneficial
Required personal qualities
- A team player, able to build strong working relationships whilst working remotely
- Strong people skills, confident in dealing with people and able to build rapport quickly
- A natural networker with strong relationship building and communication skills
- Ability to speak confidently, professionally and with a warm friendly style to firms and individuals at all levels
- Able to manage own work and prioritise to ensure completion of tasks
- Able to take initiative and bring new ideas into play
