Registered Manager (Childrens Service) - Selly Oak - £50,000+

The Service

Well established Childrens Home catering to EBD (3-4 Bed) based in Selly Oak

The Role

  • Fulfil the role of the Registered Manager as defined within the Care Standards Act.
  • Deliver on the content of the Certificate of Registration and the Statement of Purpose
  • for the establishment.
  • To be involved in the selection, recruitment, and retention of staff as necessary.
  • Ensure that all new staff receive a proper induction to the home in line with company
  • policy
  • Monitor ongoing expenditure and report any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that staff operate the petty cash system within the required guidelines.
  • Ensure that the environment is managed in line with all Health and Safety requirements
  • and that this is reflected in monitoring, reporting, and recording functions.
  • Maintain the fabric of the building, its grounds and equipment in good order, and take
  • remedial action where necessary.
  • Read and understand Company policies and procedures and ensure their operation
  • within the home.
  • Report to a line manager or other appropriate person, in the event of awareness of poor
  • practice.
  • Participate in the on-call system.

The Candidate

  • Good interpersonal skills are a necessity of a Registered Manager with the ability to communicate professionally both verbally and in writing.
  • A Registered Manager must be able to prioritise their workload and that of their team, maintaining and monitoring accurate records.
  • They must be able to work effectively within a team and independently when required.
  • A Registered Manager must be able to demonstrate effective leadership and management skills as these are key to the role, as is an understanding of and experience of adolescent and challenging behaviour.
  • A Registered Manager must meet the requirements for their own personal registration with Ofsted.
  • The post holder must hold a full driving licence and have the use of a vehicle as travelling may be required throughout the UK.
  • Applicants to the post should have an exemplary disciplinary record, be reliable and trustworthy, with a good attendance record.
