A leading infrastructure company is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their major projects team in their Cardiff office. This is a unique opportunity to play a significant role in a £1.5 billion marine and landside project.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor Role
The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will join a dynamic and forward-thinking team, taking a seat on the senior leadership team. The role involves oversight of all project phases, ensuring contractual compliance and cost control from inception through to completion over the next 5-6 years.
- Lead and manage contract negotiations and administration under the NEC4 contract framework.
- Provide strategic advice on risk management during the construction stages.
- Oversee cost planning, budgeting, and financial management for the project.
- Collaborate with legal, technical, and operational teams to ensure project success.
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Extensive experience as a Senior/Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, ideally with marine or major civil engineering experience (roads, aviation, highways, etc.).
- Strong understanding of construction risks and mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency with NEC4 contracts.
- Exceptional legal, technical, and contractual knowledge.
- Background in a contractor environment preferred.
- Chartered status (MRICS) or a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- MSc in Law or equivalent legal qualifications would be advantageous.
