BI Engineer - Data Warehouse - London/Manchester

BI Engineer required for a leading client based in Oxford. My client is currently seeking a BI Engineer to help expand our capacity and shape the future of our team. As our business advances in data maturity through ongoing engagement, we're experiencing a surge in requests. We need to balance this demand with the necessity to review, redesign, and enhance the sophistication of our data architecture.

This role involves leading the design of data modelling in the data warehouse as we expand our reporting capabilities and integrate new data sources. It includes making critical decisions regarding SQL and data modelling, as well as serving as the primary contact for the business concerning our data pipelines.

Hybrid working available at either London, Leeds, Oxford or Manchester Office

The salary for this role is up to £60,000 per annum

Key skills and responsibilities,

  • Strong BI Engineer
  • Knowledge and experience in Data Warehouse schema design, data modelling, and data warehouse systems
  • Strong proficiency in SQL
  • Experience in data warehouse modelling designed for future scalability
  • Proficiency in leading schema development
  • Expanding the data warehouse by integrating new data sources and applying best-practice design principles
  • Collaborating closely with the IT department to ensure data collection and storage are suitable for BI needs
  • Staging and transforming data from multiple sources into reporting and analytical solutions and integrations
  • Experience with data visualisation software (Power BI preferred but not essential)
  • Practical experience in ETL processes and tools
  • Analytical mindset with creativity and attention to detail
  • Staging and transforming data from multiple sources into reporting, analytical solutions, and integrations
  • Creating technical documentation to capture development processes and data warehouse changes
  • Developing and maintaining analytics solutions and performing data analysis
  • Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues
  • Collaborating with the Data and Analytics team to deliver dashboard reports
  • Effective communicator who listens carefully and uses positive language to present information, ideas, and views clearly, both verbally and in writing, and through technology
  • Experience in interpreting data to derive insights
  • Comfortable working independently and collaborating within a team
