Quantity Surveyor.  Residential Development Groundworks, Infrastructure & RC. Established Groundworks contractor turning over £90m working on schemes around M25. Predominantly traditional build schemes with multiple phases, ongoing for 2 - 4 years. Office based in N/E Kent, near Sevenoaks.

Excellent salary plus package of £120k+, with self-employed option (£400-500/day) also available

Your Profile. As a competent, degree qualified Quantity Surveyor, with 8-10 years post-graduation experience, working for Groundworks contractors you will be given an opportunity to develop your career from a Projects Quantity Surveyor into further management. You will be capable of taking responsibility for live and impending contracts, meeting clients, costing, programming and maintaining strong links with the Technical side of the business.  Repeat business is an important element for this company and your negotiations must reflect this.  You must be fully IT literate and capable of dealing with all reporting issues linked to programmes and performance.

 The Company is a Groundworks and Civil Engineering contractor that has been successfully trading for over 25 years.  Working principally for major housing developers, constructing roads, sewers, groundworks and associated infrastructure for new residential developments. Contracts range in value from £2m to £15m.   

Quantity Surveyor. The Role.

• Experienced Quantity Surveyor ideally with groundworks or civils background.
• Competent in standard form of measurement.
• Used to running several sites.
• Competent in compiling variations.
• Competent in debt management.
• Ability to reach agreement of final accounts.
• Good communication skills.
• Report directly to Surveying Director.
• Salary both competitive and negotiable dependant on experience.
• Offices in north-west Kent.
• Can start as soon as available.
• Hours 0800-1700, working from the office.

Qualifications & Experience. Ideally Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, with probably a minimum of 6-8 years practical experience, working for a recognised groundworks contractor. You will be used to dealing with Clients, Commercial teams, Design Professionals, Local Authority representatives as well as the excellent, directly employed, site staff.

The Salary will reflect your ability and level of experience. There is potential for earning substantial bonuses based on productivity. A bespoke package is available including pension and health.

A self-employed option is also available, £400 - £500 day rate
