We are looking to recruit an SEN Teaching Assistant to provide learning and pastoral support to students with SEMH Needs at a lovely school in Burton on Trent.

This position is full time, 8:30-3:30

The role will begin in September and will run for the entire academic year for the right candidate,

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEMH Needs who struggle to access the curriculum ensuring their individual learning needs are met.
  • Work with pupils in KS1 who are non-verbal
  • Communicate with the class teacher and other professionals to develop and implement personalised education plans.
  • Monitor student progress
  • Work closely with parents and caregivers, providing updates on the student's progress and offering support and guidance.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and provide a supportive and nurturing environment for the student.

Requirements:

  • Have experience supporting young people with SEN (this can be paid or voluntary)
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Have a DBS on the Update Service
