Production Planning Supervisor

A manufacturer of safety-critical components sold into aerospace and defence industries is growing. Due to the increased workload, they are looking at streamlining their processes to maintain their high-quality standards without creating any bottlenecks. To bolster their Supply Chain Team, they are now seeking a Production Planning Supervisor.

Reporting to the Materials Planning Manager, you will be responsible for a team of 2 x Materials Planners, covering 3 departments within the business. Your team is responsible for the planning and expediting of production across the site.

This company has not needed a lot of the processes they require now, so this role is a challenging one, where you will need to win the hearts and minds of existing employees as well as identify areas of change and implement them.

Responsibilities of the Production Planning Supervisor:

• Analyse MRP output, create production schedules and prioritise work orders for production optimisation.
• The management of any issues that arise that could impact production.
• Ensure that production plans for all products across the site are aligned to achieve final product OTIF.
• Ensure all parts and materials are available to support works orders.
• Maintain production planning parameters in the MRP system to support effective planning.
• Develop production planning processes and procedures.
• Develop relationships with internal stakeholders of other departments to ensure effective solutions and plans are put in place.

The ideal candidate will be experienced at working in a business that has streamlined their materials planning department, uniting production and manufacturing teams to enable you to make improvements on the shop floor.

You will have implemented new processes and systems and have a good vision of where you want to get to, with the ability to work out how to get there.
