Piping/Mechanical Designer
£38 per hour (Inside IR35)
Ellesmere Port
6 months rolling contract
Job Purpose:
• Prepare Detailed Drawing packages to allow the Mechanical contractor to fabricate and install the project or plant change request design.
• Visit site to carry out detailed surveys of existing & proposed installations using various measuring devices including Laser and dumpy levels.
• The Designer will model the pipework and mechanical equipment using the current 3D design software (currently Plant3D). Deliverables from this will include Piping GA's, Isometrics, P&ID's, MTO's etc.
• Carry out 3D Model reviews as required by the Project/Lead engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare 3D model of the proposed design.
• To undertake detailed site surveys using Laser & Dumpy levels.
• Prepare Deliverable drawings in AutoCad (GA's, Isometrics, Support details etc.)
• Produce MTO to enable materials to be ordered in SAP.
• Produce Isometrics to enable stress engineer to carry out stress review.
• Issue drawings for review and then installation.
• Carry out 3D model reviews.
• Produce vessel/equipment general arrangement drawings.
• Work in accordance with Design Office procedures (WI's).
• Liaise with other discipline designers.
• Liaise with Mechanical Engineers.
• Attend project or plant change meetings.
What you'll need:
• Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
• Mechanical/Piping design and drafting experience in the Petro-chemical industry.
• Knowledge of Plant3D design software and/or AutoCAD
• Knowledge of CDM Regulations
• Background or experience in Petro-Chemical piping/mechanical design
