Supplier Quality Engineer

Are you an adept Supplier Quality Leader with a knack for ensuring top-notch quality in interior trim components?

This exciting opportunity involves collaborating closely with suppliers and various departments to uphold stringent quality standards throughout the production process.

As the Supplier Quality Engineer , you'll be at the forefront of ensuring the successful launch of new vehicles by meticulously managing supplier quality requirements. With a focus on interior trim components, including moulding, leather trim, plating/painting, assembly, and carbon fibre, you'll navigate through the intricacies of APQP processes, ensuring that parts meet the required quality for trials and beyond. Your role will encompass both technical expertise and leadership, as you drive continuous improvement and problem-solving initiatives to secure flawless execution.

Roles & Responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer:

  • Utilise tools such as DFMEA, PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, Value Stream Analysis, Control Plan, and work instructions for part and process development.
  • Lead new part introduction through APQP methods or equivalent, ensuring timely delivery of PAPP.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement efforts.
  • Conduct drawing and CAD analysis, along with measurement and data analysis for parts and processes.
  • Spearhead supplier process reviews and improvement activities, resolving concerns efficiently.
  • Serve as a key influencer within the commodity team to deliver exceptional quality.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses technical proficiency within the interior commodity, covering various components.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record in problem-solving and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills, effectively engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Is adept at self-management, prioritizing tasks across multiple suppliers and functions.
  • Shows flexibility to work incremental hours when necessary to meet manufacturing and customer requirements.
  • Provides proactive status updates and escalates issues appropriately.

Job Type: Contract (Inside IR35)

Duration: 12 months

Salary: £35 - £40 per hour

Specific/Technical Experience:

  • Experience in part and process development, APQP, and supplier management

Work Location: Supplier based in Essex, with visits to Gaydon/Coventry
