We are seeking a proactive and committed Quality Engineer with a strong background in Quality within an Engineering environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in metal processing, inspection, and finish preparation, who is also well-versed in quality management systems, particularly ISO9001:2015.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintain and improve the company's quality procedures, standards, and specifications.
- Define quality procedures in conjunction with operating staff.
- Actively improve and maintain ISO9001 quality management systems, conduct internal audits, and manage external audits.
- Review existing policies and procedures, suggesting changes and improvements, and implementing them.
- Coordinate and investigate customer complaints or issues with other teams, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Monitor and check off all vehicles leaving the factory, assisting with queries to fulfill both internal and external expectations and prevent on-site issues.
- Raise internal paperwork for warranty jobs as required.
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers and arrange site visits.
- Liaise with suppliers for continual feedback and manage warranty/quality issues.
- Maintain calibration records and ensure equipment calibration.
- Attend and coordinate internal meetings with appropriate data for checking improvements.
- Record and monitor internal stoppages and assist in pushing through long-term resolutions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in a Quality role within an engineering environment.
- Knowledge and experience in metal and metal/alloy processing, inspection, and finish preparation.
- Expertise in internal and external Quality Audits.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills, analytic/investigative attributes with strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, good customer service, and communication skills.
- A qualification in Quality or problem-solving techniques is advantageous.
