D&O Underwriter

Our client, a new MGA part of a larger group is seeking the right individual to launch and lead their D&O offering.
The MGA platform is backed by a team of experts whose collective knowledge covers the full breadth of technical, innovative, technological and underwriting expertise. Working in partnership with a global insurer and broker partners, they provide an exceptional customer experience and choice for brokers, covering a range of specialist business insurance products.


The team are focused on differentiating their solutions and delivering better value to policyholders, brokers and insurer partners. Combining high-quality insurance coverage with technology innovation, underwriting talent, and exceptional service delivery. With capacity in place, the infrastructure and the distribution, they now require a Lead Underwriter / Head of Management Liability / D&O to take responsibility for managing the underwriting strategy and activities for an insured product / multiple insured products in the portfolio, ensuring the appropriate standards and controls are maintained. You will:

• Have an integral role in the planning and design of the product's evolution, proactively building strong trading relationships with brokers to maximise financial results
• Build a reputation as a trading expert and build confidence in the market through interaction with brokers and intermediaries, generating a robust pipeline of new business opportunities.
• Lead meetings, presentations and tenders to secure new business opportunities.
• Effectively promote product range and proposition to leverage commercial opportunities whilst building expertise across the business through mentoring and coaching.

This is an exciting opportunity to build a vertical in a stable and fast growing MGA. The role is homebased with travel to various hub offices around the UK when required to collaborate with the wider senior leadership team. in addition to a very competitive salary and benefits, there is a management incentive plan on offer.
